In âThe singerâs wifeâ a mermaid wants to know earthly life for she is in love with a singer from a fishermanâs village. In return, the boy passes through many challenges to win her heart.
In âGod Neptuneâs loveâ the mighty god of the sea falls in love with a mortal from a village. Wanting to attract her attention in order to conquer her heart and take her into the depths with him, he causes many disasters on the ocean, sinking ships and drowning people, but she still would not share his love.
âThe three mermaidsâ describes the life of the ocean nymphs, daughters of the feared god Neptune. By chance, the mermaids arrive aboard a fishing vessel, falling in love with three sailors who love them dearly and wish to have them by their side.
The last story, âPoseidonâs wifeâ, describes the godâs love for a beautiful mortal woman, who lives in a rich, peaceful and prosperous city. He marries her and together they have five children but she misses her home town and wishes to see it once again, no matter the consequences.
